VOA-GNY Rings the NYSE Closing Bell to Mark the 16th Operation Backpack® Campaign

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY) marked the 16th year of its Operation Backpack® campaign by ringing The Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, August 29.

Members of the VOA-GNY Board of Directors joined Tere Pettitt, President & CEO of VOA-GNY, as well as key partners and staff at the historic New York Stock Exchange building on Wall Street to help raise awareness of the annual, city-wide campaign that provides new backpacks full of grade-specific supplies to children living in New York City homeless and domestic violence shelters. Jeff Bruneteau, Regional Vice President at Walgreens, an Official Sponsor of Operation Backpack® 2019, had the honor of ringing the bell itself.
