The Honickman Companies Annual Charity Golf Fundraiser Raises More Than $250,000 For VOA-GNY’s Bronx Early Learning Center

The Honickman Companies, Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY), and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) today announced that more than $500,000 was raised at The Honickman Companies Golf Invitational event held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, with all proceeds benefitting VOA-GNY and UNCF. Championed by The Honickman Companies’ leadership, the annual event has raised over $1.5 million since it was first held in 2020.

“We were not able to play golf this year due to rain, but our team, business partners and donors came together for a fantastic banquet, presentations, and a celebration to show their support for what we have accomplished together,” said Reginald Goins, President and COO of The Honickman Companies and Vice Chair of the VOA-GNY board of directors. “Our signature invitational event takes place on one day of the year; however, we have a year-round commitment to serving our communities by supporting wonderful organizations like VOA-GNY and UNCF. We look forward to continuing to support these organizations and the communities where we operate,” Goins said. Goins and his wife Angela continued their tradition of personally matching all contributions made at the event.

This year, The Honickman Companies committed to “adopting” VOA-GNY’s Bronx Early Learning Center (BELC), a special education preschool program for children with developmental delays and disabilities—contributions raised this year will fully fund this program’s annual budget deficit. “We feel so lucky to have this community behind us, supporting the Bronx Early Learning Center and our young learners,” said Ericia Antoine, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Engagement & Special Events, VOA-GNY. “We thank The Honickman Companies for their unwavering partnership and for another successful day of fun and networking.”

Event attendees include New York Mets third-base coach Joey Cora, former New York Knicks player Charles Smith, and television personality and VOA-GNY Board Member Paige Davis, along with executives from The Honickman Companies, VOA-GNY, and UNCF.
