New York Yankees Honor Operation Backpack®

At a home game facing their rivals, the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees took a moment to honor the efforts of Operation Backpack®. Managers Joe Girardi of the Yankees and John Farrell of the Red Sox joined staff and board members from VOA-GNY for a special presentation on the field. In addition to this honor, grounds crew wore the official Operation Backpack® 2017 t-shirt, and our PSA played on the jumbotrons during the game. Fans attending were also invited to donate and support NYC's homeless children via their phones. Thanks again to the Yankees for hosting us, and to board chairman Gerry Cunningham for arranging!
