Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Grants VOA-GNY $183,000 for New Seniors Residence

We are delighted to announce that Volunteers of America-Greater New York has received a one-year grant of $183,347 from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for East Clarke Place Senior Residence—our new, 144-unit permanent supportive residence in the Bronx for older adults with limited incomes, some formerly homeless. The grant will enable us to contract social workers who can help with the intake of residents. It will also fund a fall prevention program to address one of the most common causes of injury for seniors.

The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization with the mission to improve the health and well-being of the vulnerable New Yorkers, bolster the health outcomes of targeted communities, eliminate barriers to care, and bridge gaps in health services. The Foundation – which is named in memory of a tireless advocate for immigrants, children, and the poor – provides flexible support for new and innovative approaches that enhance health and wellness across New York State.
