Lee estimates that roughly 70% of her nonprofit’s $100 million annual budget comes from city contracts and that payments have often been delayed.
“The $4.2 billion that’s been released is a huge, tremendous help to nonprofits,” Lee said. “That means we can pay staff, pay vendors and pay back loans that we owed to banks.”
“We still have work to do, the city has to do more, but I’m hopeful that this administration is working on efficiency,” she added.
