New Staff Team Secures License for Behavioral Health Programs in Northern New Jersey
Volunteers of America-Greater New York’s (VOA-GNY) Behavioral Health services in Northern New Jersey (NNJ) recently secured three-year licenses for each of their Adult Service programs. The licenses are in both Supervised Housing programs and Community Support Services.
The team was able to successfully navigate the complexity of regulations set by the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) without any Level 1 citations. However, our NNJ programs were able to meet these high expectations despite a challenging timeline.
“For such a new team to pull off a three-year license their first time out is extraordinary,” said Tere Pettitt, President & CEO of VOA-GNY, further highlighting this achievement.
Staff members at the Community Support Services program have been trained through the Rutgers School of Health Professionals to incorporate nontraditional wellness and recovery principles as well as evidence-based practices into their work. Both teams say theyare excited to work with individuals to help them meet their goals as they apply to employment opportunities, further their education, better their health, and secure housing.
